We’d ordered a bottle of the I’m-Yunity (amazon affiliate) and had it with us when we went to the vet today. Chuck said to go ahead and start her on it. She’ll get two capsules a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. So she’ll be getting it before chemo begins and continue to get them for as long as she’s alive (unless there’s an adverse reaction, of course, or other research evidence comes to light that gives us pause).
We’re calling them M&M&Ms — Missy’s magic mushrooms.
I’ve tried to find someone who has an “in” at Penn to see if I can get any info on the early results of the latest study, but to no avail. I understand the results won’t be published until 2016, too late for us.
For a dog Missy’s size (15 pounds), the capsules will cost $60/month.
So it is a leap of faith. But not one we’re terribly worried about. I can’t find any evidence anywhere online that dogs have had a bad reaction to the PSP.
